For the dehorning of calves younger than 3 weeks. Corrosive substance, to use with precaution.

Indications: For dehorning calves up to 1 month of age

Dosage: Intensive application on horn buds for 1 to 2 minutes

Use:

Between the 10th and 30th days of age the horn buds can be easily groped on calves. First shave the hair on the bud (a circle of approx. 3 cm in

diameter). The skin around the bud is to be protected by vaseline or another cream of a suitable pH value. Apply 1-2 drops of water on the hair-shaved

area. Then open the stick and intensively rub it against the bud for 1 to 2 minutes.

If you follow the recommended procedure and apply the stick carefully, only the necessary area is cauterised. Putting too much water on the point of application is risky.

Stop the application as soon as the skin is creased and rough. After treatment, each calf must be kept in an individual box and paid special attention.

Warning: The Caustic pencil is highly caustic! The application can only be done by a specially trained person. Always use protective gloves!

Do not allow skin or mucous membranes to come in contact with the stick.

First aid: If skin, eyes or a mucous membrane comes in contact with the stick, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical assistance.

After ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! Wash out mouth with water. Obtain medical attention without delay.

Storage: The stick should always be stored in its original plastic tube. Thus the absorption of atmospheric humidity is prevented, which would decrease

the efficiency. The plastic tube has two parts, a wide cap and a narrow  cover with markings. The cap has a children’s safety lock. Nevertheless,

always keep the slick out of the reach of children. The tube is opened by pushing the lid to the cover and turning it counter-clockwise.

Store in a dry place, between -20 °C and +35 °C.
